Hi there and welcome! Glad you are stopping by. This Blog was created to keep my friends & family in touch with my whereabouts. On the road, you might find me cooking at someone’s street cart, or pouring drinks at a bar that doesn’t belong to me or taking over a vendor’s shop so they can go have lunch with their family.
Originally hailing from the Bay Area in California, I have not lived there in years. Taking my wanderlust to a higher level, I have lived and worked overseas for nearly the last decade. Still, I continue to find San Fransisco one of the best cities in the world. It has heaps of what I love–multicultural communities, valued artists, sustainable actions, free, open-minded & creative thinkers…and access to beautiful nature. The City weather could be warmer….Brrr!
Brief History: When I was 16 years old, the Italian Consulates across America granted 30 Italian-American students from across the States, scholarships for a 3 week tour of Italy–bringing young people closer to their heritage. I was fortunate to have been selected to go! Walking through a magic portal of immigration, my feet landed on foreign soil, I received that first stamp in my passport…and I was in love! Travel, I thought, you and I are going to have a long and wonderful relationship. Travel and I have been together for more than 25 years.
By the time I was 25 (and there was only around 4 billion people on earth), I visited Central America, Southern Africa, 30+ States in the US, and parts of Europe–mostly as a solo traveler. Currently, I have lived on 3 continents and have visited nearly 50 countries. Just for the record, I don’t have a “Bucket List”, nor do I travel to “check things off the list”. I travel for the experiences of moving from place to place–the Journey. The location is secondary.
It is hard to balance out work and Travel, so recently I have stopped ‘work‘ and will now meet up with Travel for a year long affair. We are headed down to South America to do a little dancing–unless the wind blows me elsewhere.
About Me: I enjoy meeting people and snapping pictures. I like to learn. I prefer street food to fancy. Spontaneous dance parties are the best! I like to create stuff & break stuff…I think one should always “leave the gun, take the cannoli.”
love,
Susi
