Where’s There’s Two, There’s…

13th May 2013 , SAN FRANCISCO!!!

Dear Mia my Love,

Who woulda thunk that we would see each other THREE times this year?! (omgomgomg!) First two in Meh-hee-ko, and now in my hood SF!  So glad you had a long weekend and we were able to PLAY.  Yay! “Play!”   We cultivated so many good play moments.  Even sleeping in during a very busy weekend for us was considered a play moment.

It seems that each activity you and I partake in reaches a level of  a “full-experience”.  Picking you up from the airport = full experience.  Driving over the Bay Bridge = full experience.  Dinner with Diva Gabrielle = full experience.  Haight Street, Thai food lunch, GIANTS  game, Hi-Dive bar, driving to Napa, being in Napa, Music festival in Napa = a multitude of shared full experiences.  JANE’S ADDICTION and drooling over Perry and all our commentary?  FULL EXPERIENCE!  The Basement Bar, Berkeley, Ethiopian food with the Diva = OMG!  Seriously, we squeezed a LOT of FUN into our weekend!

How I love you.  How I adore you.  How we can engage in play on the level we do is sacred to me.

In gratitude for my playmate,

susipucci

ReUnions are AWESOME!

17 April 2013, Costa Rica & Bocas del Toro Panama

Dear Tonya,

I haven’t seen you in nearly a year, and miss you, our similar time zone and our chats.  A reunion will happen sometime as it does…i have had FOUR amazing reunions in less than a month!  Two planned reunions, one may-be and one full out surprise….all in such a small part of our world!

1.  Sam

Met in Costa Rica 19 years ago, have been best mates ever since.   Reunion in Tamarindo and wow! It isn’t a quaint little town anymore!  Guanacaste, although more crowded, remains a sweet little tropical paradise–especially at Playa Grande.  We met up and hit the beach, ate heaps of good fish, I watched Sammy play the guitar & surf, we chased mot-mots/monkeys & boas, and made sunset ritual happen everyday.  Drank rum.  Good times.

2.  Raz

Met on The Playa at Burning Man only to be reunited on the Playa of Manuel Antonio.  There was only as slight-outside chance that we might meet up, and with a little work–whamo–we had a three day overlap!   Made some art and drank some rum.  Good times and good conversation Raz.

3.  Lukas

Friends for more than 14 years, he’s been in Bocas, Panama for 10 years, and this was the first time I came to his ocean-jungle-farm paradise.  He has turned into a ‘bird nerd’ extraordinaire and is the only extranjero to play on the local baseball team.  Played around in his garden, went on beach trips, streamed in the Giants games, watched dolphins & leather-back turtle momma laying her eggs on the beach…and oh yeah, drank rum.  Good times.

4.  Chris and Amy

Walking a beach in Bocas, and two people start staring at me–you know that stare where you feel all humbled because people recognize you before you recognize them?  Well hello Antarctic friends!  We met on our Polar Expedition 3+ months ago.  Together we swam in nasty big waves, watched the momma leather-back lay eggs & drank rum together.  Good times.

T-Girl–where will OUR reunion be?   You are locked in my heart and can’t wait til we meet up together my sister.  I promise we will drink rum 🙂

love you,

Susi

Pura Vida

8 April 2013 Guanacaste, Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Dear Melissa & Katie,

Oh Girls how I miss you both and wish you were here exploring with me!  The heaps of fun we would have together playing with shells on the beaches, and surfing the waves and laughing!  Could use a great dose of the trio laughing!

I have been boa constrictor hunting, yet have only seen a meter-long dead one.  There have been so many sunsets and moon rises to savor…waves to play in and micro-brews to try.  And who doesn’t love watching surfers?

Now let’s talk a bit about the animals…I could just imagine us sitting under the sloth I saw, and watching it for hours!  Slowly eating leaves, pulling them down with her sharp claws on her three toes, and every so gently checking in on her BABY sloth wrapped around her belly.  Yeah, yeah.

Do you know what a Mot-Mot is?  A super colorful bird with a spectacular tail (wish we had tails like that!)  Can we get together and dress up like Mott-Motts?

love and miss you both,

Susi
